Wood Borer Control

Pest Cover - Wood borer – (Powder Post beetle)

They are very destructive and reduce precious wood into dust. The minute holes created by the Wood Borer from where the yellowish powder falls, is the sign of infestation. Wood Borers are about 4mm long and dark brown to black in colour. They spend their life in wood. And thus they live in their food. They infest the internal structure of wooden material and convert it into powder form. Depending on favorable conditions like moisture level, temperature they can infest to other adjacent furniture as the powder post beetle can fly from one place to another. The adults finally emerge by making tiny pin size holes. The life cycle of woodborers is about one year.

Mode of Treatment:

The infested wooded structure was made empty & the tiny holes. The Wood Borers are controlled by injecting the insecticides in the holes with a syringe. The entire wood is also sprayed with insecticide. The holes are injected with oil base chemical; there after all wooden structure will be sprayed thoroughly with oil base chemical.
