Termite Control

Termites, also commonly known as white ants, destroy valuable property, documents, furniture and furnishings…As per their habitat the termites are divided in two types - Subterranean Termites and Non Subterranean Termites

Subterranean Termites :

They having contact with soil and live in underground colonies, sometimes they also makes their sub colonies at ceilings, lofts, lift pits etc. Most of the infestation cause in India because of the Subterranean Termites. They can infest any material to reach their food i.e. cellulose which is commonly present in wood, paper and clothes. They are one of the organisms who can digest cellulose material because of Microfora which help them to digest cellulose. They are hard to detect and are almost always discovered only after the damage has been done.

Non Subterranean Termites- They are dividing in two parts-

1) Dry wood Termites- They have no contact with soil, they can often found living in desert areas, they can nest in dry seasonal woods, in wooden furniture and in pile of lumber.

2) Damp wood Termites- they need lots of moisture so make their nests in damp and wet wooden material which is having sources of moisture.

Termite’s colony consists of mainly Queen, king, soldiers and Workers.

The more infestation cause in India is because of subterranean termites:

Termites are fastest but silent damager as they damage the structure from inside but we can’t detect it immediately, we going to know the infestation if we see the muddy channels made by them. So treating the premises before damage is advisable.

Post Construction Anti Termite Treatment- For ready structure. Pre Construction Anti Termite Treatment- For construction site.

For Outside premises- Drilling will be done to effective depth of 9 inches and 1 foot apart. For Columns- If building having stilt structure, The Drilling will be done to junction at ground of columns at its periphery. Lift pits, garden area will be treated by spraying on infested area. As these are sensitive areas where termite easily get access.

2. Filling- The holes are filled with anti termite chemical, the filling procedure is repeated two to three time to make effective chemical barrier against termite.

3. Sealing- The holes are sealed with white or black cement. The muddy channels made by termite will also treated by spraying and the channels are removed from infested place, then the minute holes are injected with anti termite chemical. The whole premises, furniture will be checked to see the infestation and treated to make it termite free as required.
